Depression is a deadly disease..by sarah_idrees

Depression is a disease which doesn't  show up in a blood test,it can't be seen under microscope..
it is a serious mood disorder,it affects how one's feel, think, and handle there daily activities,it causes severe damage to the the victim, both mentally and morally.
it affects every single aspects of their lives, they feels weak, ashame and helpless,it affects mostly the teenagers.

Depression is beyond sadness,it doesn't come and go,it's there instilled in them, and when you question them with "are you ok? they would surely say YES! i am ok,but deep inside them they need someone to hug them and say NO! you are not ok and probably by doing so tears might begin to roll from  their chicks if he/she is soft hearted..

most African parents denied the fact that depression is real,so they don't talk about it!they often say"common go eat and do the house chores"!because during their era depression wasn't as common as we are living now, dear upcoming parents let's break this myth because depression is known to be a deadly disease, try to communicate deeply with your children and know what's their problem and how to overcome it..

so what causes depression ?

depression is caused by many factors, what causes one to be depressed might not be the cause of other depressed person..
for some it might be not having what they've been longing to have,or they lack something which they need desperately and suddenly depression will arise, for some death of loved ones though it natural but depression increases, for some it's family crises that made them depressed, for some lack of contentment, for some engaging in conflict, some by bullying may be they were bullied at school or other places, some the society they live within, and some educational issues;they want to be educated but circumstances and Destiny said No! for some associating with negative people, for some marriage issues, for some comparison, and for some engaging in  "relationships" which turns out not to be successful...

Advice for a depressed person

1. first and foremost you need to have strong "faith" know that whatever you are going through the Almighty knows so pray hard to him and surely HE would answer your prayers!
2. Try to let go off anything that disturbs your peace of mind, know that nothing lasts
forever, don't lets people's timeline distract you.
3. Tell your trusted ones what or how you are feeling, especially your parents, have someone to counsel you, listen to stories, and sermons..
4. set a routine,go for outings, spend your time in the garden, eat good food, have some exercises, check different platforms and see how depressive people overcame their depression and apply it to your life.
5. stop isolating yourself from people!go and interact with them, you are not the only problematic, they have  their own problems too just that they are stronger than you..
i hope by doing all listed above, all together we can fight this deadly disease controlling a lot of people.

say no to depression!
you are loved!
you are a person of interest in this world !
in every hardship there comes ease!
have a strong mind!
you are worthy enough!
